"Cruz" on "Santa Barbara," "Daniel" on "L.A. Law," "Coop" on "Profiler," "Roy" on "General Hospital," and "Michael" on "For the People," are among his most note-worthy roles in series TV. A Martinez has also created a number of exceptional characters in film, including "Cimarron" in "The Cowboys," "Buddy Red Bow" in "Powwow Highway." and "Garcia" in "She-Devil." For those who follow his career as an actor and musician, or are just learning about him, we have established this site - to which we are very happy to welcome you. This place is updated (less than) regularly with info on A's recent, current, and upcoming projects. Our addresses are on the MAIL PAGE, and we would love to hear from you.
Please note that we've posted on the NEWS PAGE of photo of A with Jean Smart ("Designing Women") from his upcoming LIFETIME Original Movie, "KILLER INSTINCT: FROM THE FILES OF AGENT CANDICE DeLONG," which is based on Ms. DeLong's book about her real-life experiences in the FBI. Jean portrays
Candice, one of the bureau's most prominent female agents (she was instrumental in the Unabomber case) and A plays her partner, Bobby Mazariegos. The film is due to debut on LIFETIME Television on Monday, October 6th, at 9:00 PM (ET/PT). Meanwhile, we're sending out feelers for photos from A's recently completed feature,"Isla Bella," in which he plays a comedic dictator by the name of "El Comandante." They painted his hair silver for this part and he grew a moustache, and we've heard he was a hoot. We've come to possess a couple of fuzzy Polaroids that were lifted from the wardrobe trailer on location, but we're holding out for better images.
Also on the NEWS PAGE, we've posted a couple of interesting shots from "Homeland," the indie movie he shot last summer in the desert outside of Los Angeles. There's also a photo of A with Mercedes Ruehl from his work in the recently released film, "What's Cooking?" Feel free to check this out and follow the link there to our reprint of Kevin Thomas' review of the flick from the Los Angeles Times. "What's Cooking?" is already available in DVD and video. Please note also that we have posted a reduced v
ersion of the poster artwork for A's film, "Ordinary Sinner" on the NEWS PAGE. This image replaces the stolen Polaroid of co-star Brendan Hines jumping on A's back, which was, as Mr. Martinez mentioned to us, "out of character." "Sinner" will be released on DVD in the next couple of months.
We've posted a couple of new photos on the PICS PAGE, which we are expanding. According to a lot of the feedback we get - "its all about the pictures." While we're not so sure about that, we're adding the new ones without killing the current ones. Among them is a shot of A with a ball of yarn on his head (waiting for the kitty, we guess), and a vintage shot of A with Marcy Walker, together and all dressed up.
If you're new to the site, please take a moment to access the MESSAGE FROM A page, which is our personal favorite thing about this whole shebang. As you can tell by the dates on the Messages, he wrote most of them back when we first went up on the web. We tried to push him about this for a long time (pep talks, guilt trips - pretty much everything short of bribery and threats of physical harm) but it didn't help. The last thing he came up with was the "For Love of New York" piece, which is, in our humble opinion, one of the best things we read anywhere about NYC in the weeks after 9/11. Which only makes us itch to get more of these pieces, but it's obvious he's a busy guy. (No hard feelings, Mr. M ;>) So take a little time to stroll through the messages. You really get a sense of him.
And finally, if you're here to check out A's album, "FRAGRANCE & THORN," you can do so by clicking under MUSIC below. There are lots of pictures, as well as lyrics, song samples and video from the album for you to download, and you can purchase a CD or cassette of this very cool piece of work while you're here. The album would make a real nice gift for somebody you might know who follows A, or is just learning about him. (You'll have to forgive us for being so enthusiastic about the guy. We seem to have a mental disorder or something). A note to the many of you who are currently waiting to receive your copies - we have been back ordered for months now, due to a dispute over ownership of the original masters, but this snafu is in the process of being settled, and we should have product in the pipeline again very soon. ***TIP: Click on A's Right Ear to jump directly to where you can download song samples from the CD; Click his Right Eye to go to the Video Page; his Left Eye to go the Lyric Page; his Forehead (the brainy move) to jump directly to the Order Page. Or if you prefer, go ahead and enter the site through the portals below, take some time to browse around, and before you leave, please remember to bookmark us or add us to your hotlist. We're going to keep this place as alive and interesting as this man's work has always been, and we'd love to have you visit us whenever you can. Thanks for making the journey to our front door. We hope you'll make yourself comfortable inside.
